Hi all, I was just at the 2026 Summit & TechCon and was able to sit in on some of the Microvellum sessions.
I'm the Engineering Manager at Peregrine Millwork Ltd. and we've been with Microvellum for something like 10 years (before I was in the engineering department), and we've been using TenonCAM machining in Microvellum for our casework for as long as I can remember.
http://www.tenoncam.com/The situation I'm in is I can see the new products and updates that are coming up for the Foundation Library and I want to get in there and use those at Peregrine, but the TenonCAM support from Microvellum ended with component library 48_3 so our library is from 2018 or so.
So I wanted to check here first if there's enough of a userbase with TenonCAM out there to justify Microvellum adding TenonCAM machining options to the Foundation Library.
If there isn't the userbase out there the next steps I'm going to look at is getting the Foundation Library up and running and then gradually phasing out the TenonCAM machining in our process. That machining is working alright for us but it's not worth holding on to if it's,
A) Effectively locking us out of the Foundation Library updates
B) Forcing us to run two parallel libraries (spoke to some of the Microvellum folks at the conference here and they advised against doing that, and I can see the potential hazards there)
This is my first Forum post so hopefully I've put this in the right category. If there's anyone out there in a similar situation or who has gone through something similar I'd love to compare notes.
Thanks and safe travels to everyone on their way home from Anaheim today.
