We have an Optimat ABD 050 horizontal drilling/doweling machine.  Soon, we are taking delivery of a Homag Centateq N-300 512 V7 push off CNC machining center.  We've never done barcoding before but I think it will be important to do so with this setup.  I am picturing printing labels for parts at the machining center for components that require horizontal drilling and scanning them at the Optimat, which uses WoodWOP.  Can I just buy a barcode scanner and plug it into the USB port of the Optimat (along with the setup a Microvellum tech will be providing), drop the programs into a folder on the Optimat, and start rolling along or is it more complicated than that?
