Basic Formula writing

Being a beginner with MV  I've had some modeling experience (inventor) and have been using autocad for 15 years and way back when, 25years ago, I had a little bit of experience with WoodWop and a weeke.
My question is are there any "Help Tutorials" on the "IF" formula's  ?
