Hi all,
I’ve got a job with a custom angle corner cabinet and I’m really struggling with the best way to approach it and feel like im hitting a brick wall, and im not sure i made the right choice in choosing this software to best suit the business moving forward.
I know Microvellum has the Any Angle Corner Cabinet, but I’m finding it hard to adapt to suit what I need:
Shadowline fingerpull
3 doors (with mullion)
Rails instead of a solid top
I’ve tried using the Any Angle cabinet as a base, but even moving or adjusting a basic part quickly turns into needing SIN / COS / TAN formulas, which feels like overkill for what should be fairly simple changes.
At the moment I’m experimenting with building this from two square cabinets and modifying them, but it feels clunky and like I’m probably going about it the wrong way.
Coming from PaletteCAD (which we’re in the process of migrating away from), I really miss being able to:
Copy/paste and modify a part easily without opening up a seperate window for 2D Part Editor
Type a value to extend it
Draw a line through a part to cut an angle or custom route
That made oddball cabinets like this much faster to knock together.
So I’m keen to hear how others would tackle this:
Is there a better starting product than Any Angle?
Is there a more manual / construction-style workflow people use?
Or is leaning into formulas just the reality with this type of cabinet?
Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated. This one has me a bit stuck.
Thanks.
