Hi and firstly apologies, as I a sure this may have been asked before, however from searching the forum, what I can find doesn't really answer my question.
As the title says, is there a correct way?
For example, I'm trying to set up some standard user defined/clipboard machine tokens that when you add them to a a part, the depth of cut looks at the part thickness first.
Using below does not seem to work and after investigating using within various cells in design data, it only reports the correct thickness if used before the comments column. Once used it works anywhere for that part:
=PARTTHICKNESSM(MVCP,M!MFSH,M!MFSO,M!MFBO)
I know that ideally there should be a prompt or material pointer to refer too, but when working with new parts, they may be using the direct material without a material pointer and there isn't a prompt set up for it yet.
Is there a formula that would work?
Hope that makes sense and thanks in advance!
