Dados From Analyzed Products Throw G-Code Errors Frequently
Not sure if this happens to others as often as it does for us, but it seems like 25-50% of the time when we analyze a custom product that has an angled end, and subsequently an angled dado, the angled dado will produce an error in the g-code for our Morbidelli. When looking at the composite drawing nothing really seems to be all that crazy other than the dados may have a slightly irregular shape, but that irregular-shaped dado is apparently just odd enough to create an error.
What I've been doing is going back to the old tried and true 3-sided polyline dado vs the "closed" polyline dado MV creates. This has fixed the issue in every instance. I'm probably asking for way too much for it analyze dados that way again, but that method worked well.
Does anyone else experience issues like this? If so, what's your fix?
I've always been a huge advocate for the solid model tools, but lately it almost seems like I'd be further ahead drawing every part out and assigning machining manually - totally negates using the SMTs if I'm going to be doing that. But spending time modeling 3D solids and analyzing only to have to turn around and fix every part seems very counterproductive.
I'd love to know where in the development road map the SMTs, IRIB, and nesting are since they all seem closely connected.
