Is it possible to leave this Column Blank? Or have it used as a reference to the "Map Parts" Column?

We are currently using this column to calculate which machine will be required in optimization, then using the Map Parts as a VLOOKUP to match the machine to its "LinkID".

I am just trying to avoid a future build that wipes this column, or makes it unusable for us.
