End of Life Announcement for the Component Cabinet Library

Hello, Microvellum Community!

We have some news to share with you regarding the Component Cabinet Library...
..........

Effective October 1, 2024

We are officially announcing the End of Life (EOL) for the Component Cabinet Library as of October 1, 2024. While the Product Engineering Team ceased active maintenance when the Foundation Library was released in 2021, this notice formally marks the end of all development and engineering support for the Component Cabinet Library.

What This Means for You:

  • No Further Maintenance: After October 1, 2024, Microvellum’s Product Engineering Team will no longer provide any updates, enhancements, or modifications to the Component Cabinet Library.
  • Last Supported Version: The final supported version of the Component Cabinet Library is version 50.7, and this announcement applies to that version as well as any prior versions.
  • Technical Support Continues: Our Technical Support Team will still be available to assist users who continue to use the Component Cabinet Library, but no functional changes, bug fixes, or feature requests will be addressed by the Product Engineering Team.
  • Legacy Documentation: Over the next few weeks, documentation related to the Component Cabinet Library will be retired from our Community portal to better align our resources around the Foundation Library. This change will help streamline the experience for new users by reducing confusion caused by outdated or unsupported product libraries. We recommend accessing and saving any relevant documentation you may need before it is removed.

No Requirement to Migrate

We recognize that migrating to the Foundation Library may not be feasible for all users, and we want to assure you that this is not a requirement. The Component Cabinet Library remains available for your continued use and can still be customized and expanded to suit your specific requirements. However, the Foundation Library is the actively maintained library, receiving updates, new products, new hardware, and improvements based on user feedback.

Why Consider the Foundation Library?

The Foundation Library is the default library for new clients and is regularly maintained by our Product Engineering Team. It features ongoing support, product enhancements, and issue resolutions to ensure a modern and functional library. While migration is not required, it offers the advantage of continued support and improvements.

Thank you for your understanding as we move forward. We are committed to providing the best tools and support for your design-to-manufacturing workflow
