Having the ability to apply materials to all layers in a drawing would be great, especially when using the Solid Model Tools to create a rendered view of a custom product - often, for submittal purposes, a view like this is needed before any final product can be created.

This would allow the user to quickly add a material to ANY layer that exists in the open drawing.

If this can't be done easily, or quickly, then at least give us the ability to select a layer from the Add New Layer function. Currently, you have to type in the name, or copy and paste if you happen to think ahead. It would be nice to have the list of layers available and just select the one you want.
