Feature request - Add "Floor" Global and update finish face formulas to include it
Current Foundation Library
Requesting that this be implemented by the Development team as the solution presented below will get overwritten with library updates.
Problem,
Rounding down the width and height dimension of doors/drawers to the nearest increment that you manufacture to requires playing with the gap prompts until you get it right. Time consuming.
This can also be applied to adjustable shelf calculations.
Example, we cut doors/drawers rounding down to the next nearest 16".
- 20" wide cabinet, 1/8" left gap, 1/8 center gap, 1/16" right gap
- Options/General/Accuracy set to 1/16"
- The drawing produces doors that are 9 27/32" wide
- For our requirements in this example, the doors should be 9 13/16" wide.
- The work order produces doors that are 9 7/8" wide. This does not leave enough space for the gaps. The work order is not rounding down to the next 1/16" it is rounding to the nearest 1/16".
Solution,
Add a Global to specify your increment and a "Floor" formula to the width/height calculations.
Same example with "Floor" formula added
- 20" wide cabinet, 1/8" left gap, 1/8 center gap, 1/16" right gap
- Options/General/Accuracy set to 1/16
- "Floor" formula inserted into finish face width/height formulas, set to 1/16"
- The drawing produces doors that are 9 13/16" wide (rounded down to the nearest 16")
- The work order produces doors that are 9 13/16" wide
