Info on PLINE Offset function that Mimics AutoCAD "OFFSET" Command (OFFSETPOLYLINE)

At TechCon a couple years ago, I remember voting for a true PLINE offset option that would not simply "shift" the pline over by a given amount in X,Y,Z, but instead truly offset the entire PLINE by a certain amount on either side of the PLINE, like the "offset" command in CAD. If this is an option currently, please let me know, as it would help us out tremendously!
