FEATURE REQUEST: Window Selection Mode to Follow CAD Behavior
Many operations inside of AutoCAD (and I'm assuming the same with BricsCAD) allow for object selection but will automatically switch to a window selection when the user clicks in space. This is very efficient.
Currently, many of the commands in Microvellum force the user to type "W" for a window selection.
It would be so much more efficient if those commands behaved more like CAD, in the sense where it's defaulted to an object selection, but if I click in space, it will automatically switch to a window selection.
A command in Microvellum that comes to mind is Edit Multiple Product Prompts. If I want to use a window to select multiple products I have to type "W <enter>". This is just a nuisance because I typically click in space to do a window selection only to realize I have to type "W".
Seconds removed from commands that are used many times in a day can save several minutes. For us at Master Millwork, we've increased our CAD efficiency by 10-15% through the simplification of commands (via LISP) - that's over an hour a day saved. Microvellum commands are the ones slowing us down now.
Streamlined processes that mimic everyday CAD behavior improves the user experience and allows them to focus on being productive.
