May Cabinets is a leading architectural millwork manufacturer specializing in high-end commercial and luxury residential projects in Glassboro, NJ. We are seeking a highly skilled and detailed Millwork Engineer to join our technical team. You will be the critical link between the design approval and the automated production floor, ensuring our complex custom designs are built accurately and efficiently.
Production Engineering: Translate approved shop drawings and architectural specifications into production data, including cut lists, detailed assembly drawings, and material usage optimization reports.
CNC Programming: Generate precise G-Code and tooling programs for our CNC routers, panel saws, and edge banders using our manufacturing software (e.g., Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, or similar ERP system).
Constructability Review: Review architectural drawings and internal shop drawings for constructability, adherence to AWI/AWM standards, and flag potential issues or conflicts before the job moves to production.
System Maintenance: Develop and maintain the integrity of our software libraries (parametric formulas, material standards, and tool files) to maximize automation and minimize manual data entry.
Liaison: Collaborate closely with the Project Manager regarding material lead times and specifications, and with the Shop Foreman to troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement process improvements.
3+ years of experience as a Millwork Engineer, Drafter, or Programmer within an active manufacturing environment. Expert proficiency in millwork manufacturing software (e.g., Microvellum, with a robust detailing package).
Proven ability to read and interpret complex architectural blueprints, specifications, and interior design documents.
Strong understanding of woodworking materials (veneers, laminates, solid surfacing, etc.), hardware systems, and modern millwork construction methods.
Excellent organizational skills with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
Specific expertise in Microvellum product library development and formula writing.
Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles on the shop floor.
Knowledge of installation methods and field measuring techniques.
Salary Range: [$110,00- - $135,000+] (Negotiable based on experience)
