We run a cut to size business for cabinet makers and have had enquires from customers who use software other than Microvellum like Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, Palette Cad, CabMaster etc. They ask, is it possible to import a project from their software to our Microvellum for us to cut to size for them? My guess would be in a DXF file format or similar perhaps?

Our typical process is for our customers to fill out a form supplied by us with their required cabinet type, size and finishes which we then input through as an order entry product list without CAD drawings. 

As you can imagine filling out our paperwork becomes another step for our customers after they have their projects already drawn in their software. Also, it allows room for error on our end if we input values incorrectly.

I understand you can import projects in a similar fashion by using an excel spreadsheet. This is a process I'm very eager to learn more about also for our customers who use a good old fashion scale ruler and pencil for drawing their projects. I've downloaded MV excel template for this and looking to build on in it, I've also come across a youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggUV3qoO6Ww which is very similar to how I envision.
