Inner Drawers Subassembly
This was discussed in one of the Q+A’s at TechCon.
Myself and another user were in agreeance about both of these items.
Inner drawers we are having some struggles with. It is something that we use work arounds nearly every instance to make them function the way we need them.
1. We used Wood Dovetail Drawer Box’s - default it uses the Wood Dovetail Drawerbox. But we have some customizations we use specifically for pullouts. So manually we have added a copy of the Wood Dovetail Drawerbox and named it as Wood Dovetail Pullout to allow for those specific modifications.
2. The way Inner drawers calculate spacing and heights of pullouts is not intuitive and requires Design Data modifications to update. The main workflow is when I want (2) pullouts in a 30” tall opening to be 4” tall, if I change the prompt for height to 4” it pushes those two drawers to the bottom of the opening, so we manually adjust the Z to get them into place. I am recalling from memory… So someone correct me if I am wrong… But I believe the subassembly calculations make the drawer heights the +/- with a constant spacing. Where what I am trying to do is use the spacing as the plus minus and not the Drawerbox. I have dabbled for a few hours in trying to fix this issue, with not much success.
