Looking for On-Site Microvellum Project Engineer


Kay Dee Company, a commercial casework and millwork manufacturer located in Omaha Nebraska is seeking a Microvellum project engineer.

Summary

The selected individual for this role would demonstrate proficient use in Microvellum in order to create shop drawings for client review and manufacturing purposes.


Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

· Ability to read and review architectural plans and specifications for each project.

· Creation of casework and millwork shop drawings per project documents and estimating quotes per Kay Dee Company standards.

· Ability to create and edit custom projects within Microvellum. Utilizing excel formulas, products to work orders and machine centers.

· Creation of Hardware and Finishes Submittals by gathering pertinent information related to the project including material and hardware specifications.

· Revise shop drawings with field dimensions and client redlines.


Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.

- Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in related field or 3 to 5 years of related work experience working with and demonstrated proficiency:

o Microvellum

o 2D & 3D AutoCAD

o CNC Programming

o Architectural Millwork and Cabinet Making

o AWI Standards

o MS Office – Excel and Outlook

- Prefer 5+ years’ experience

- Has a firm understanding of wood product manufacturing processes. (i.e., shop drawings, cut listing, production management, CNC machinery, product assembly, finishing, etc.)

- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.

- Project management experience preferred

- Candidate must possess time management skills in order to meet deadlines.
