Microvellum Announces End of Support for Windows 7

Support for Microsoft Windows 7 officially ended January 14, 2020. Microsoft® announced that from this date forward, they will stop development efforts and technical support for Windows 7.

How Are Microvellum Users Impacted?

Microvellum software applications will continue to function on Windows 7 after the 14th, but Windows 7 will no longer be considered during product development cycles or defect remediation for issues impacting users with Windows 7.

At this time, future releases and software updates for Microvellum’s applications will not be blocked on Windows 7, but compatibility and support will not be guaranteed for this platform moving forward.

Why is Microvellum Ending Support for Windows 7?

Microvellum is committed to providing the best possible user experience. Diverting development resources to validate the performance and stability of our applications on a platform that is no longer receiving updates or supported by Microsoft simply doesn’t make sense.

However, by focusing development efforts around the latest Windows OS, our development teams can concentrate on features and functionality built on and support by the latest Windows OS.

Should I upgrade to Windows 10?

If you’re considering upgrading your PC to Windows 10, you should be sure that your PC’s hardware and other software applications are supported by Windows 10. Please refer to the Windows 10 Upgrade FAQ

What Versions of Windows are Supported?

Microvellum currently supports Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. However, support for Windows 8 will end on January 10, 2023. If you have additional questions or concerns, please review Microsoft’s Windows Lifecycle Fact Sheet.
