Microvellum Engineer, Venice FL

This position is in support of the Director of Engineering. This person will be responsible for generating submittal drawings to clients, generating fabrication drawings and machine code for the onsite shop, and archiving existing drawings within the current system. The drawings will consist of Architectural Panel systems, Interior and exterior planks, rain screens and casework. Materials include wood, phenolic, metal, glass, and plastic. 


Essential job functions


  • Generate, update, and archive submittal and shop drawings using AutoCAD and Microvellum.
  • Research job specifications and incorporate into drawings.
  • Review drawings with various departments and revise accordingly.
  • Prepare engineering and machine code for shop equipment.



Minimum requirements


  • 3-5 years of AutoCAD experience, or a certificate of education in CAD
  • Good working knowledge of spatial relationships, measurement, and dimensioning
  • Ability to multi-task (will start and stop several projects throughout day and will need to be able to pick each project back up quickly and efficiently)
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize, and to work with little supervision
  • Hands on understanding of woodworking



Physical abilities required


  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs


Experience with Microvellum software a plus
