For those who couldn’t make today’s Release Review, here’s a quick update...
Back on July 27, we set out to clear roughly 180 bugs from our QA backlog... bugs that had already been fixed by development but were still waiting to be tested.
Six weeks later... that effort has grown to 395 total items, and as of today, 311 are complete, including 210 bug fixes.
A few numbers I shared today that stood out...
That 68% puts us pretty close to the 70% stability commitment we made going into Q3.
A lot of our time went into the things closest to manufacturing... machine output and post-processing, nesting and optimization, along with fixes for subassemblies, formulas, drawings, project management, materials and hardware.
We’re targeting September 16th for our next release... and it'll be a beta, available through the Microvellum Portal. If you choose to participate, please test it in a sandbox first, run some of your real work through it, and let us know what you find by submitting a support case.
We’re aiming for October 7th for the general release, depending on how the beta goes. If we need more time, we’ll take it.
One thing I want to make sure is clear... this six-week effort was focused on work development had already finished but was waiting to be tested. There are still reported issues waiting for development, so if you’ve reported something and don’t see it in this release, it hasn’t been forgotten.
We’re also making changes to keep this kind of testing backlog from building up again. Development is moving faster these days, and our testing needs to keep up. We’re adding more automated testing, better testing tools, and using more AI to help us test as we develop.
