MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE WOODWORKING INDUSTRY!

Summary of position

Under the supervision of the Programming Manager, the candidate is responsible to create panel saw programs, CNC programs to support Production. Applicant must be able to interpret released for fabrication shop drawings and provide all the supporting documents for production. These production documents include but not limited to cut lists, production drawings, CNC programs, etc.

Main Responsibilities

• Create Microvellum models based on shop drawings
• Create Solid works/SWOOD models based on shop drawings
• Create CNC programs and cut lists
• Create supplementary production drawings to support production
• Provide production data for machine operators
• Work with production to complete projects
• Must meet scheduled deadlines
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate with the department heads and CNC operators during assignments and resolution of machining, production, or quality issues

Software Requirements

• Microvellum (required 3 years+)
• AutoCAD (required 5 years+)
• Solid works (considered an asset)
• Excel (Proficient - Advanced)
• SWOOD (1 year+)
• XILOG3 (preferred)
• 5 Axis (required 3 years +)

Education

• University Degree or Trade School Diploma in a related subject
• Trade Certificate in Millwork an asset

Work Experience

• Experience required with custom millwork (10 years+)

Other Qualifications

• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to communicate (in writing, verbal, and schematic)
• Familiar with cabinet fabrication techniques
• Able to work proficiently with mm (metric) and knowledgeable in Imperial
• Understand proper usage of hardware for cabinets (hinges, sliders, pulls, etc.)
• Understand proper usage of connectors (dowels, lock dados, etc.)
• Knowledge of AWMAC is an asset
• Able to operate a Biesse or SCM CNC is an asset
