Mid-Stile Overlays are not being taken into account when calculating Drawer Front Widths.
Example: 2 Door 2 Drawer
Base FF
Library: Component
50.3 / 50.7
Library: Foundation 24.0722
The issue we are having is with the Drawer Front Left/Right
Mid-Stile Overlays. For example, when
using a 2 Door 2 Drawer Base FF cabinet, the default is that Mid-Rails and
Mid-Stiles are wider than the exterior perimeter Rails/Stiles to account for
the overlay as well as the Gap between. (If
using 1.25 Overlay Hinges: Perimeter Rails/Stiles
could be 1.5” while the Mid- Rails/Stiles would then be set to 2.625 to make
sure you have the same overlay as well as the proper gap between parts.)
In our case as well as with many people making Face Frame
cabinets is that they want to use the same Rails/Stiles widths on the perimeter
as well as the intermediates to keep things looking uniform. When doing this
then the drawer front wants to overlay the Mid-Stile 1.25 on both sides to match
the door overlays; but the mid-Stile is only 1.5” wide overall. There doesn’t appear to be a Mid-Stile
override that then does the math to take this into account.
This means the fronts are wider than they should be an overlap
each other by 1” and are not the correct size.
They really should be the same size as the doors below and line up with
them having an 1/8 gap vertically between them.
While the Foundation library is set up a little differently,
I am seeing that the same issues occur there as well.
