Hey everyone,
I think we can all agree the current "one vote" system is a good start, but it doesn't always show the full picture. Right now, a minor "nice-to-have" that lots of people upvote looks exactly the same as a "major workflow killer" because they both just get a single click and while total votes is a good indicator it doesn't give enough data in my opinion.
I’d love to see a polling or rating system implemented for both the Ideas and Problems sections to give Microvellum better data. Here are two things that could be implemented to make a difference:
Weighted Voting: Instead of a single click, if we could rate things based on want to have to critical on a 1–5 star scale or similar. It would make it easy to see the difference between a "cool idea" and a "critical need."
Head-to-Head Polling: Once a month or quarterly, we could have a "Rank the Top 10" poll for the most popular Ideas and Problems. This would let the community clearly rank priorities, giving MV better data to work off of and giving the customer a better idea of what's most likely to be worked on.
The goal is to move from just "counting heads" to showing "actual impact." This would make it much easier for the Dev, QA, and Library teams to determine their "rocks" for the quarter and fill in the gaps with the "pebbles and sand" that are easier to implement. Ultimately, it ensures they are spending their time where it helps our workflows the most.
Bonus Feature: It would be incredible if we could see how many open support tickets are relevant to a specific forum post. Linking tickets to posts (maybe via AI or tagging) would give the MV team amazing insight into "vocal" forum issues vs. the "silent" high-volume bugs that flood the support desk. It would also help flag those smaller things that don't get much forum attention but definitely need to be prioritized.
What do you guys think? Would having a way to rank your top priorities make the forum more effective? Would it help create more "Raving Fans"?
