Perfect Grain Doors and Drawer Fronts
How are you handling perfect graining for loose grain pattern materials, especially the non-repeating patterns of real wood? The issue we're having is with the door and drawer front, or door and false front combinations found in a 2 Door 1 Drawer Base, or 2 Door Sink Base with False Front product.
Microvellum nests the parts in a perfect grain container as it should. But a gap is introduced into the pattern to run the router bit between the doors to machine the part perimeters. A similar gap is not wanted or needed for the drawer front or false front. As a result, when the doors are installed on the cabinet with the required reveal gap (which is usually much less than the tool diameter), the perfect grain pattern no longer aligns.
We've tried to minimize the distance between those parts in the perfect grained nest layout with centerline nesting and smaller tool diameters. Even with those attempts the grain difference between the doors and the drawer front, or doors and the false front is very noticeable with some grained materials.
Does anyone have a creative solution for this small but sticky issue?
