Re-naming a subassembly

This is probably an easy answer and dumb question. I have two separate models that share same subassembly, "Carcass Tall FF". Can I just re-name one from the edit design data subassemblies tab and then save sub to library? Or if there is another way can someone explain. Just being overly cautious as I learn more. Thanks
