I have a group of parts that I used the SMA tool and converted to a product . The part grouping is coming in as one layer, which is fine. From here I would like to color code different SMA products for my organization products, visually. 

When I change the SMA part to a different color layer , then go back and redraw , it reverts back to the original layer. 

I would like to get different SMA products on different color layers. 

This is for Counter tops , I have a couple hundred and some are laminate, some are solid surface and I would like to differentiate by color.
