It would be great if MV prompted you / asked you which spec group you would like to use for each new room you started.  I'm always going into Overdrive Pro (Product list) to change the products into the correct spec group once I realise that the incorrect spec group is being used.  Bad habits on my part but would still be great to have this feature added to an update.
