Hi Microvellum Community!
Today, we’re announcing that maintenance for Toolbox OEM will officially conclude on July 20, 2025, as we transition to a new bundled CAD foundation powered by BricsCAD.
This planned change coincides with the launch of Toolbox BSB—a BricsCAD-based environment that delivers the same trusted Microvellum experience within a new supported platform. Toolbox BSB will serve as the successor to Toolbox OEM and will be available beginning July 21, 2025.
What This Means for Toolbox OEM Users
As Microvellum continues to invest in the future of its platform, we’re shifting focus toward new technologies that will support long-term growth and innovation, beginning with the release of Toolbox BSB.
As part of this transition, Toolbox OEM will no longer receive updates after July 20, 2025.
However, existing installations will continue to function as they do today, allowing you to continue working without disruption.
We recognize that this change may be unexpected, and we're committed to making the transition as smooth and supported as possible. A cost-neutral conversion to Toolbox BSB is available, allowing OEM users to make the move with zero out-of-pocket costs. Trial access, onboarding resources, and a guided conversion process are all in place to help teams explore Toolbox BSB and convert when the time is right.
Tools to Support a Smooth Transition
To help teams plan and prepare, Microvellum is providing:
A self-service 45-day trial of Toolbox BSB through the Microvellum Portal
An automated conversion process for activating Toolbox BSB licenses
A structured onboarding experience with Microvellum-produced training videos
Access to a curated library of 100+ Bricsys tutorials covering core BricsCAD tools and workflows
Users can test the new environment with their own projects and workflows before committing to the switch.
Continued Platform Options
Toolbox BSB is part of Microvellum’s broader move toward a CAD-agnostic strategy, offering users flexibility in how they run Toolbox. While Toolbox OEM will be phased out, Toolbox AC (for full-version AutoCAD) will continue to be fully maintained.
