New Microvellum on BricsCAD User - Challenges with AutoCAD-centric Training

Hello everyone,

I'm a new user working with Microvellum on BricsCAD, and I'm finding the official training videos, particularly those in the "Plan to Production" playlist, challenging to follow. The videos are great, but they're demonstrated in an AutoCAD environment, and the workflow doesn't always translate directly to BricsCAD.

I'm facing two specific issues:

  1. Working with Imported Drawing Blocks: In the training, a PDF is imported as a drawing block to be worked on. BricsCAD seems to handle this differently. I'm finding it difficult to make edits to the imported block, and the process isn't as intuitive as it appears in the videos.

  2. The CLIP Command: The CLIP command, used extensively in the videos, does not seem to function in the same way in BricsCAD. I've spent a lot of time trying to get it to work as shown, and it's been a source of significant frustration.

Essentially, I feel like I'm watching training for a Mac when I'm using a Windows PC. While I'm sure all the necessary tools are in the BricsCAD build, I'm struggling to apply the knowledge from the AutoCAD-based trainings.

Could anyone share tips or best practices for navigating these differences? Or perhaps suggest any brics specific material? Any advice on how to perform these specific tasks in a BricsCAD-friendly way would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!
