Unit & Unit Costs on Costing Report

Can someone explain to me what Unit and unit costs on the costing report represent? 

I'm in a metric template, the cost of my material is $48 for a 4x8ft. Measuring currently in linear meters. We can't figure out what the below numbers represent, however we are used to reading in square feet, not sure how to change that on a metric report?
