Hello,
Does anyone here use the Viewbase function for their drawings?
My team relies heavily on it because it automatically updates drawings when we redraw or edit a product, generating plan, front, side, and isometric views that suit our design needs.
However, when working in BricsCAD on a project originally drawn in OEM, the Viewbase views are still visible but cannot be edited. The only option seems to be deleting and replacing the Viewbase views. This is one of the main reasons we haven’t fully transitioned to BSB yet.
Has anyone found a workaround that avoids having to replace the views entirely?
Unfortunately, Dynamic 2D Drawing isn’t a viable option for us, and implementing alternative functions seems to require more setup effort than is practical.
Previously, in OEM, we could activate Viewbase in Paper Space, which would pull all 3D entities from Model Space into Paper Space. While performance could slow down on larger projects, it saved significant time by automatically updating when products were redrawn—avoiding the need to manually reselect the 3D model from the parent view in Paper Space. It seems BSB can’t replicate this functionality correctly either.
Any insights, tips, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
