Wall cabinet construction when using light valances

How are you constructing your finished ends and what do you do at fillers?  If you check valance bottom and check a finished end the end extends down the valance height. When doing this the inside of your finished end is the interior color which is now exposed. I'm assuming this has to be finished per awi? Same goes for the end against your filler. Checking Wall end left or right extends the unfinished end down. Doing both of these cuts down on the amount of seams and looks better in my opinion. I'm just curious how many of you make cabinets this way and how many have a different way.
