Auto-Size Pulls

Auto-Size Pulls

Auto Size Pulls are used to select the pull size based on the width or height of the drawer or door front, depending on whether they are horizontal or vertical. This setting can be set up to be automatically applied to all products within a project.

Select Project Properties:

Within the Hardware > Pulls tab, Pull Types can be selected for the following Product Types:
  1. Base
  2. Drawer
  3. Tall
  4. Upper

Each of these dropdowns contains the complete list of Pull Selections found in the Globals (G) workbook. Select one, or more, of these dropdowns > select Auto Size. The Auto Size selection creates the Auto Size Pulls tab, select it.

Within the Auto Size Pulls tab, the number of pulls to be used in the particular project or job is established with the Auto Size Pull Qty dropdown. Select the number of pulls to be used in the project.

With the Auto Size Pull Qty established, the Pulls used within the project can be selected. Select the  icon next to the Pull Selection box to open the Select Hardware Interface. Select the Pulls to be used as Auto Size Pulls within the project.

The Auto Size Pull Length(s) in the left-hand column are formula based. Changing formulas to hard-locked values is not recommended. When the Auto Size Pull Selection(s) are established, the left-hand column's lengths are automatically updated the next time the Project Properties Interface is accessed.

With Auto Size Pulls selected, the correct sized pulls are automatically added to products depending on their dimensions. If there are product dimension changes, the pull and its associated machining are automatically updated.

The correct sized pull to use is determined using the "Pull Auto Size Minimum Clearance" global variable. This variable is the minimum dimension for the front to extend past the auto size pull ends. The total height or width of the front, less this dimension, is used to calculate the pull size to use from the auto-size pulls established by the user.
