FAQ: Toolbox BSB Software Features and Customization
Software Features & Functionality
- Are LISP routines available within Toolbox BSB (BricsCAD)?
- Yes. Toolbox BSB (BricsCAD) supports AutoLISP. This means you can load and run your existing .LSP routines directly within the BricsCAD environment. Most standard LISP routines will work without modification. However, if a routine relies on commands, functions, or external tools that are specific to your existing CAD software, you may need to make minor adjustments.
- Are Express Tools available in Toolbox BSB (BricsCAD)?
- Yes, BricsCAD Pro includes a set of Express Tools that offer added functionality for tasks such as layer management, text manipulation, block editing, and drawing cleanup. It's important to note that Express Tools and Lisp routines were not included in the Toolbox OEM.
Depending on your experience with other CAD software, these tools may be new to you, but they can significantly enhance your workflow, particularly for tasks like adding toolpaths to exploded text. BricsCAD’s Express Tools provide added functionality and are included as part of Toolbox BSB (BricsCAD) at no additional cost.
Customization
- How customizable is the BricsCAD interface, including layout, tools, and color settings?
- Yes! BricsCAD gives you a lot of control over how your workspace looks and works. You can customize toolbars, ribbons, menus, and even create your own workspaces for different tasks like drafting or modeling. Keyboard shortcuts and mouse buttons can be reassigned, too.
- If you're used to a specific setup, you can import your existing CUI files to bring over familiar tools and layouts.
- You can also change how things look—adjust colors for backgrounds, grips, crosshairs, and more. Light and dark themes are available, and you can tweak them even further if you like. Overall, BricsCAD makes it easy to build a workspace that feels just right for you.
