Microvellum BSB 2026
Microvellum BSB 2026 is now available for purchase and download. BSB 2026 introduces the Microvellum software bundled together with the BricsCAD Pro 2026 platform, with all of the accompanying changes and enhancements made after BricsCAD 2025. With the release of BSB 2026, BricsCAD Pro 2026 has become the primary platform for Microvellum BSB, and will be the standard version of BSB available for purchase with a Microvellum subscription.
Availability
- Microvellum BSB 2026 is available to users with an existing Microvellum BSB subscription, provided as part of their existing subscription benefits.
- Users with an existing Microvellum BSB subscription will not need to make any additional purchases or pay any upgrade fees.
Downloading and Installing
- Log in to the Microvellum Client Portal.
- Navigate to Software Management.
- Download the Microvellum BSB 2026 installer file from the "Latest Full Install" dropdown menu.
- Once the file is downloaded, follow the instructions in the Installing Microvellum BSB article.
- All instructions that apply to installing BSB 2025 apply equally to 2026 with one exception: BSB 2026 uses a different file path and separate application folder.
- This should not require any action on the user end to install, but it is relevant to note if intending to run BSB 2025 and 2026 on the same device.
- Once the instructions in the installation document are completed, the software will be installed.
Microvellum BSB 2026 is a separate application from Microvellum BSB 2025, and will install in its own file location, using its own file path and directory. BSB is capable of being installed and run on the same device as Microvellum BSB 2025, with all data being interoperable, including one's license. This new application does not modify or overwrite anything from BSB 2025. The two software applications are capable of being installed and run side-by-side on the same device.
Data and Configurations
As previously stated, Microvellum BSB 2026 does not alter any existing projects, library data, or system configurations. As such, it is fully interoperable with anything created in BSB 2025, requiring no data migration whatsoever. After installing the software, simply:
- Launch BSB 2026.
- When prompted, add a new configuration.
- Select your current Microvellum configuration.
- Immediately continue where you left off.
Installing and running BSB 2026 should thus cause little to no disruptions in any existing Microvellum workflows.
Licensing
- If Microvellum BSB 2025 is already installed on one's device, then running or activating Microvellum BSB 2026 will not require any additional licenses.
- Additionally, if BSB 2025 is already installed and has an active license associated with it, it is not required to activate the license again.
- This applies to both the FLA and SLA type of licenses.
Key Improvements
BricsCAD Pro 2026 incorporates numerous stability improvements and bug fixes related to the BricsCAD platform, including a number of issues that affected the integration between BricsCAD 2025 and Microvellum. Additionally, several other feature improvements are now available for Microvellum users, including:
Improved Block Management (Blockify)
Enhancements to the Blockify function have been made, allowing the software to automatically detect repeated geometry and convert it into reusable block definitions.

Performance Improvements
BricsCAD Pro 2026 improves performance in operations, increasing system responsiveness when working with large or complex drawings.

BricsCAD Pro 2026 has made numerous updates to the user interface, including:

If you previously reported an issue or encountered features that did not work as expected, we recommend installing BSB 2026 and testing its functionality. If you continue to experience issues, please report them.
- Can I open Microvellum projects created in BSB 2025 in BSB 2026?
- Yes. Projects created in BSB 2025 can be opened and used in BSB 2026. During installation, be sure to select the appropriate configuration, and you will be able to continue working without issue.
- Can I run a 26.1.xxxx update on BSB 2025?
- Yes, you can run a 26.1.xxxx build on BSB 2025; however, we recommend keeping your BSB version up to date. The first two digits in the version number, “26,” indicate the current release platform, or the maximum platform supported by that build. While a newer platform is available with BSB 2026, a 26.1.xxxx build can still be run on BSB 2025 installations if needed.
- How do I know what version of BSB I am running?
- When you launch Microvellum BSB, the “Powered by BricsCAD” splash screen appears briefly and displays the version. For BSB 2025, you will see version 25.2.08, which reflects the bundled BricsCAD Pro version. For BSB 2026, you will see version 26.1.08. Additionally, the BSB 2025 icon includes the letters “TB,” while the BSB 2026 icon includes “MV.”
