Toolbox Release Notes | Build 25.1.1218.641
The following release notes apply to Toolbox build 25.1.1218.641
Part Properties Fixes
A handful of issues centered around the Part Properties interface have been resolved:
- The Reference for Measurement tool in the interface has been fully removed from the UI. This feature has been depreciated in most recent versions of Toolbox, and thus, no longer served a purpose.
- An issue was reported regarding part orientation in Part Properties. When viewing the orientation certain parts (such as subassemblies) drawn using DRAWBLOCK in the Origin + Rotation tab of the Part Properties UI, it is expected to see an error noting that the part’s orientation cannot be represented. However, it was found that when opening the part in the UI, the orientation values would sometimes be overwritten when opened.
- When viewing a product in Part Properties, and deleting a part of that product, it was sometimes the case that the product’s parts would no longer be registering correctly within the UI. When highlighting parts of the product, the wrong parts would be highlighted in the drawing.
Token Placement Fix
Fig. 1: The text of a 2D elevation token before (top) and after the fix (bottom).- Users reported issues with 2D token placement for specific products in the most recent builds. 2D Elevation and Face Frame tokens, when drawn, were sometimes found to be inconsistent with the data in terms of height, with some 2D text (like labels or dimensions) being incorrectly placed in 2D as well.
- This issue has been resolved. Tokens should now be placed at their correct heights, and any text or dimensioning should no longer erroneously offset from the 2D elevation token.
Rotating Parts In Nest Fix
A pair of issues reported with the “Rotate Parts In Nest” feature of the nest editing tools have been resolved:
- When using the feature, and prompted to select a basepoint for the rotation, some users reported an issue in which the part would not rotate from the selected basepoint, but rather, a seemingly random location on the axis.
- When rotating parts, it may be the case that part borders will overlap, which may cause issues with part boundaries and cutting. An error warning has been added to alert users when part boundaries have been made to overlap.
Use Previous Batch Optimization
- A new feature has been added to the Microvellum Beta Optimizer: “Use Previous Batch Optimization”. This setting, when enabled, allows users to reproduce identical nest patterns by referencing a previously processed batch's seed. When reprocessing a project already in production, users can select a prior batch to reuse its optimization seed, ensuring that the new nests match the original layouts exactly.
- This feature is also selectable when using the Legacy Optimizer, though it does not change any functionality or have any effect when doing so, as the Legacy Optimizer performs a similar function by default.
Single Part Editor Fix
- There was a reported issue with single parts being drawn in 2D: nested subassemblies which were not meant to be hardcoded would receive hardcoding and machining for attributes like item quantity and Z origin. This issue has been resolved. These attributes should no longer unintentionally receive any machining.
Material Name Sorting Fix
Fig 2: Materials in the Material File sorting incorrectly (left) vs correctly (right).- An issue was reported with the sorting order of materials within the Material File. Materials are intended to sort alphanumerically in the interface, but it was found that they would instead sort randomly and out of order. This issue has been resolved- materials in the Material File should now automatically sort according to their names.
