Tutorial: Processing Stations Auto Assign Rules

The "Auto Assign Rules" in the Processing Station settings are designed to save you time by automatically assigning Processing Stations to parts in the Processing Center based on the rules you select in the Processing Station Setup. This means you won't have to manually set them up when processing a work order.

To set up Auto Assign rules, navigate to the Processing Stations tab found in Toolbox Setup > Options.

Select a Processing Station from the list and click the Edit button.

Select your Auto Assign Rules from the Settings tab.

Use the rules to automatically assign the station to parts based on the criteria described in that rule. For example, if "Parts - Face 5 Machining Only" is selected, the station will be automatically assigned to any parts that only have face 5 machining and nothing else. If "Parts - Contain Face 5 Machining" is selected, the station will be assigned to any parts that contain face 5 machining, even if they have other types of machining as well.

To use the Auto Assign feature, open a work order with parts that match the rules you selected in your processing station. Once the parts are loaded in the grid, select your processing station and click "Assign Processing Station Rules to Selected Parts," as shown below.
