Anyone have a machine token for a 20mm Cam using a router?
Trying to get machining for cams with a router doing the 20mm hole instead of using a drill.
Adding sheet sizes in the processing center
How many of you have nested something only to realize you had one part that needed to be on a 5x10 instead of a 4x8. Or you viewed your nest results and discovered the one sheet of laminate in your nest only needs to be 4x8 not 5x12. What if you could just add the sheet size to the work order? I am not saying let us adjust thicknesses since that would only cause problems. But adding a sheet size or changing available sheet qty should not cause a problem and would be very useful.
Splitting a project into phases
We have drawn a large job which now needs to be split in to phases (Phase 1 and Phase 2, for example) and we need the phase name to be shown on the report and the ptx files. Our only 'work around' we have is to rename the file each time we wish to save
Map Material to Processing Station
Has anyone ever seen the benefit of 'mapping' materials to a specific CNC machine? That would let you set up each material so that each part would be populated to the processing center with a combination of stations already assigned. Instead of a manual
FEATURE REQUEST - Tool information needs to be visible on reports
We have the border tool displaying on our nest reports using the Material Code from the PlacedSheets table. We would like to display more information (like the description "3/8" RH Comp" as an example) about that tool if possible, but I can't figure
35mm Router
I have obtained a 35mm tool that we want to use in a tool holder as opposed to in the drill block to route our hinge cup pockets with. At the machine this tool will be set up as a router with the function set to drill vertical blind holes since its essentially
Is anyone printing labels in the shop for items that are getting worked?
I want to print labels for subassembly parts that travel throughout the shop, getting built and ultimately ending up at assemble. A few examples would be printing drawer box labels that get used after drawers are built, 5pc doors after they are built
.mpr files do not update on one of our users computers
when one of our users are trying to update his nest gcode in the composite drawing it does not update the .mpr file that goes to woodwop on our homag n700 machine. All other users are able to update codes and the files update. we dont know if this is
Labels automatically print when processing
We are just working into the foundation library and whenever I process a job it automatically prints the labels, any ideas on how to turn this off? I'm glad the printer didn't have too much paper in it the first time but have since switch to PDF as default
Include all routes for part optimization (to avoid collision during a nest)
The biggest culprit for this issue in my company is when we use our 45° miter bit, it will have a collision radius of 19mm when it's cutting 19mm deep. 3/4" one and done gap will be too large to have on a regular basis, and we only miter a few parts in
Saw Patterns - Flipped Sheets
We run a split flow process (patterns processed between beam saw vs. nesting), fed from an automated panel management system. Often times, same work order will run multiple batches, some materials (with machining) to nest, and those without machining
Part Labels
I have a situation with my part labels that makes it difficult for the machine operators. There are certain parts that have edgebanding but do not have Hboring that does not print the WMF drawing on the file. In the attached sample, the one part has edgebanding
2D Dimensioned DXF image too light to see on reports
We'd like to use the Dimensioned WMF (2D DXF image) on our reports. However, when we do so, they show up so light that they are barely visible. No matter what layers/lineweights I assign in the template, it doesn't affect the resulting image. On some
Missing Vertical Drill
We have had one BHX cnc running for a long time and are now going to set up a BHX 500 (similar but does two mirrored parts at a time). To start I copied the tool file and I will make adjustments as I learn the requirements of it. Question: with the same
Labels for Specific Parts
Is there a way to assign different labels to specific parts? We are having a time with our operator at the edge bander where they are not changing the premills based on the different types of edge band being used on different projects. EX: One job will
Change name reference in reports
Hey all! We have manufacturing reports that right now reference the draftsman name in Microvellum, however that variable does not work great when we have multiple drafters working in the same project. What we would prefer is for MV to reference a local
Multiple Nesting CNC's
Our shop wants us to produce code for 3 different nesting CNC's so they can dynamically choose where to run individual jobs as deadlines change / cnc's go down etc. I started out checking boxes for 1 cnc processing, unchecking that cnc, checking the next
Auto Assign To Processing Station If Specific Tool is Used In Machine Tokens
Hello, we have setup a processing station for mitered parts where it spaces the parts further apart so the V-Groove bit does not hit adjacent parts. We want to autoassign parts to the processing station if tool number 904 is present in a parts machine
Main drawing file will open in Trueview 2020 but will not open in Autocad.
This is the second time this has happened, but the old fix is not working. We have a job that has a lot of hours in it that has now locked up. Last time I renamed the back up file and made it the dwg file, but this time that is not working. I have also
Assigning Default Machining Sequence Based On Tool
I am trying to figure out if there is a way to rout machining in a specific sequence based on the tool used. I have a T-slot type cutter that I want to machine after a relief is routed with a straight bit. The relationship of the routs to each other wont
Duplicate Program Numbers When Sending Parts To Multiple Processing Stations
I am wondering if there is a way to prevent MV from assigning the same program number to different sheets when processing a work order where parts are being sent to multiple processing stations. We often have releases where there are plywood parts for
Machining Token
My CNC does not have a 20mm vertically drill. I am trying to use cams to construct a product. Is it possible to use a router to machine the 20mm hole instead of using a drill. Can this be changed in the global as well for future machining.
QUESTION: Is there a way to have reports in report groups automatically select the correct processing station?
We just started utilizing Report Groups, which we really like, overall. When creating the Report Group, I have them auto-generate upon processing a Batch. I then set up the processing station that I wanted to trigger the generation of each report (shown
Nested Panels Report Page Break On Different Sheet Stock
I would like to add a page break whenever there is a different sheet stock material.
Scrap not being utilized
I am new to scrap management and trying to use it for the first time on a job. I entered 18 sheets of scrap we have of Melamine. All the settings seem to be set properly but it is using literally zero of the sheets. Any ideas? To clarify, it is cutting
Formula Driven Materials to have the "Always Flip" "Always Ask" "Never Flip" option
We are going for full order processing automation without human intervention as a goal. However, because we're using Formula Driven materials to manage our unlimited number of materials, these Formula Driven Materials are causing a pop up message that
Changing Cutpart and Edgeband components by opining the project on another computer
I got some issue when I opened a project on the different computer on the same toolbox via server Cutpart and Edgeband Components of Some of the project specification groups that I made originally in the first place changed and it looks like it reverted
Trying to add a new spec group and copy the cut parts but keep receiving an error.
I am not sure of where to go to free up some space, as I did not set this system up. Any help is appreciated.
Dust Hood Height
Hi, We run a Beisse Skill 2412 G F and I was wondering if there is a setting in the processing that I can lower the dust hood height? Thanks Phil
Face 6 machining help needed
Newbie at doing face 6 operations - nested based cnc router. We are going to be machining some parts that need machining on both face 5 and 6. We are planning on doing face 6 machining first, flipping whole sheets and then running face 5. Machine 0 is
Anyone use Lamello Cabineo connectors? Machining issue drilling vs. routing
I figured out how to use the Cabineos and successfully have the edgearray machine token and all that. But when it goes to machine these, it is picking up our 5mm and trying to bore the 15mm hole with that bit. I cannot seem to find a place to change it to rout and setting a different bit like our 1/4" or 3/8" compression. We do not have a 15mm drill bit but can get one. But where would I even set that tool number? As you can see, it is using the 3/8" bit for the pline which is for the Cabineo cap
Reverse direction of border cut
Hi, We are cutting solid wood and the CNC operator has requested for the bit to run in the opposite direction from how it runs right now. Right now the bit travel in a counter-clockwise direction and they would like to see it travel in a clockwise direction.
5-Axis Machining?
Is anyone using or testing 5-axis machining on a Biesse CNC? I am told it can be done with Microvellum by using machining tokens to send a machine based macro placeholders to run the macro locally on the machine. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Lead in fouls lock holes.
Looking for a little bit of help. When cutting a lock hole the lead in is fouling the side of the hole. Currently "My Offset Point" type setting is Tangent. I have also tried vertical, perpendicular, and none but all either foul the hole or cause the
Adding Text to show up on the Nesting Optimization Report
My CNC operator would like to see the Tab icon show up on the nesting optimization reports so he knows if he has to watch a part or not.
Adding Hinge plate to cabinet part
I have a cabinet with a pull-down front and want to add hinge plates to a fixed shelf. Where do I find my hinge plates so I can add it and have the correct machining?
Lock hole routing [Toilet Partitioning]
HI All. I have hardship with Partition door lock drilling. I just tried to use the default setting, but it looks doesn't right. it is not i have attached 3D with Bsuit. ad my nesting file image. How i can fix this issue and how i can initially change
Automatic detection of Hinges Clashing with Internal Options
At the moment I have to check if hinges are clashing with inner drawers and fixed/adjustable shelves or any other internal option, it is something that is sometimes forgotten about and material is wasted if the hinge is clashing with a shelve or shelve
2D Nesting and lead-in/lead out
Hi all, We don't do a lot a nesting from 2D drawings but I now have a job that it doesn't make sense to go and solid model analyze to create parts to just have to fiddle with the nest again. The problem is that my border cuts on my parts does not seem
Back Dado
I am running into an issue with the back dado. I recently moved from MV 2019 to MV 2023. In 2019 the dado for the thick back almost looks like a pocket route. The bit selected will route in the shape of a rectangle. In 2023, the route is only a rabbet
