I've spent some time creating a new drawing template for our company and made sure to start from scratch and remove the years of added elements and only create new layers, text styles, dim styles, etc. The template looks good, but I noticed that when I go to dimension an object, the layer "2D_DIM" appears in my layers list and becomes my default layer. DIMLAYER is set to my desired dim layer and it will draw the dimension in that layer, but 2D_DIM still appears. Still happens after purging the drawing. 

How do I remove the link to 2D_DIM so I don't have to switch my drawing layer after I dimension anything?
