Access Panel to Misc Stater Part?

is it possible to add a access panel to a misc starter part? I want to look for a more efficient way to add access panels to die walls and custom products . I have tried to add to misc starter by adding a subassembly to the part but it is not working . Any videos or reading links would also be appreciated. Thanks
