Cannot delete machining in 2D Part Editor

I have a custom product called a CNC Groove Panel. This product has a single part, 3/8" MDF with simple, PLINE routes that place grooves evenly spaced across the panel. In certain applications, I am needing to delete one or more of these groove routes to make room for other custom machining. In my case, it would be much easier to be able to use the "Draw Part in 2D" command and simply erase the desired route(s), and then draw in whatever new routes I want. However, when I delete one or more of the groove routes and try to update the product, it redraws with all the grooves as before and no machining has actually been deleted. Has anyone else ever run into this and found a solution?

Thanks,
Josh
