FEATURE REQUEST: Mass Auto-Draw of All Products in a Project
MV Server has helped immensely with automating the production side of MV for us, allowing for no-touch Work Order Creation & Processing. We'd love the ability to do something similar with the drawing of all the products inside a project.
Currently, we have our job tree creating automatically, feeding sql data in through an outside quoting program. The products then exist inside the correct rooms, with the correct X, Y, & Z locations applied to each. They just have never been drawn. To draw them, a user has to open each drawing in the project, click "Product Viewer", select all products, & redraw them from the database. This takes between 1-10 minutes per elevation depending on if it's a single cabinet vs. a complex elevation vs. a millwork reception desk or something. If those steps could function behind-the-scenes and run automatically somehow, this would save DAYS (or sometimes WEEKS) of time on larger jobs for us.
Then, all our drafters would have to do is open drawings that need "fluffing-out" and apply any additional notes, dims, etc. but they wouldn't have to waste time sitting there watching their screen while the products all draw in 3D for the 1st time. If there were any errors while drawing, perhaps a log could be generated at the end of the auto-draw, and those drawings could be reviewed or re-drawn as needed.
I recognize this is likely a big ask, but it would also be a BIG gain in terms of efficiency and eliminating non-value added steps in our lean process!
