It would speed up workflow if there were an easy window to open containing all global and local variables, identified by which type they are, where you could alter the variable name and it would update all instances across the library. If two sheets' local variables share a name while referencing different values perhaps there could be a unique variable serial behind the scenes that the program correlates to each. Currently we have to use find and replace after changing names. This can be difficult if the old variable name is a portion of longer variable names or surrounding parts of the formula conflict with a whole words only search.

A dependency tree would work similar to Excel's trace precedents and trace dependents. With this users could tell which other cells will be affected when they make a change. This would cut time for finding where new dependent issues originated after changing one formula.
