We are in the process of moving from local databases (one on each workstation) to a server based shared database. Working with a new workstation and a new server, we have the new database created, the new workstation connected to it, and the data transferred from the pc to the server. The data transferred was from a new installation of the foundations library 23.0210 and contains none of our custom items from our current library 22.0317. The 22.0317 library is currently not installed on the new pc in any way.
I only want add certain items from the current (old) database. Projects, Spec Groups, custom products, tool files, materials. Basically everything but the stock products from the old database (we have some errors in those items from customizations that I don't want to bring into the new database). I want to do this by migrating these items to the new database, not creating a new database. I don't want 2 of everything.
What is the best way to do this? Should I just export the above items via database management from our old computers and then import onto the new computer? It appears that I can select what I want that way. Is there a better way?
