We are purchasing a new Homag saw, and I'm considering dropping Cutrite and just directly sending code to the controller from MV. Is anyone doing this?
How is the yield you're getting compared to Cutrite? I checked a few years back, and couldn't get close to the optimizations I was getting from Cutrite. I just tried a small project again, and most of the materials required the same amount of sheets. But MV is doing something stupid with 1 material.
I have 1 product with a qty of 7. So, identical parts. You should be able to get 4 parts out of a sheet. Heck, MV can nest 4 parts out of sheet. But, instead, it tries to use 3 sheets instead of 2. I've attached a PDF of the output. Trims are down to 0.125" all the way around the sheet. I've played with the slider, from best yield to midway.
But here is the nest, with a 1/2" Kerf:
