Copying Products From Project to Project Without Saving To Library
I am looking for a workaround to a problem that we have in our data management workflows. We want to keep a very tight lid on our production Library, and for that reason disallow users from saving products to the library. We tried the route of having a library category for user's personal customization/experiments, but I was finding that in doing so, they were creating a multitude of slightly different versions of library-level subassemblies, which is exactly the kind of thing we want to avoid.
I thought that we could have users do their customization in a personal Project file and bring those products into production Projects on a case-by-case basis. The DB Explorer's Load Projects function allows you to view specific Locations and the Products within them, and you can copy them out
of the Location, but you can't move anything in, it seems?
Is there another easy way of transferring custom products around that doesn't involve saving back to the library? Or manually copying and pasting workbook data in the Workbook Designer?
