It is with deep regret that I am letting you all know of the passing of my friend and coworker Troy Smith. Troy has worked at my family's company using MV for about 20 yrs (I am 31) . He was a frequent contributor to the MV forums. Troy has spent the last 18 months fighting a difficult battle with brain cancer. When I last talked to him he was lamenting how much he missed working. It was not uncommon to hear him at his work station suddenly exclaim "I love this software!" The MV community was a great joy to him and he was always eager to help and be helped. I know he felt a responsibility to share what he has learned and further our common cause as woodworkers. His death is a stark reminder that i stand on the shoulders of those who came before me and whatever heights achieved are a credit to the strength of that foundation. Knowing or unknowing someday we walk out the door for the last time and the show must go on. I write this as an element of closure for myself, but also because I know many of you have been "in the trenches" with him longer than I and may appreciate the explanation of his absence. Rest in peace my friend.
