What is best practice for formula hardware?

I have tried to set up formula hardware for drawer slides spacers and hinges but they do not seem to work as intended. Here are the 2 issues I am having currently:

1. We use 1" spacers for frameless overlay and 1.5" spacers for framed inset. I have the formula hardware looking to the W! and recognizing if it says full inset or overlay, and changing the name based on that. It works and draws, everything is good. But it seems "stuck" on the formula and only changes when I pull up the material file and it has a chance to "refresh". There fore it isn't working properly.

2. Same deal with hinges. We only use 110deg Blum overlay and when we use certain door profiles where the door is 1" thick, we need the 95deg Blum thick door hinge. Everything works great and it uses the formula, draws, etc but I have to "refresh" the material file for it to change and then it gets "stuck" and sometimes uses the wrong hinge.

Is there another way that is more effective? I have tried switching the formula to reference the L! workbook but it does the same thing.
