A Look into Workbook Designer and the Different Workbooks
The Workbook Designer interface will be covered in more detail in a later section. However, this section will briefly cover Workbook Designer to understand the different workbooks and different levels of products/subassemblies. The image below shows all the available workbooks that can be tied to a product.
The workbooks are set up as follows:
Formulas can reference defined names and ranges from other workbooks. A variable from another workbook will be preceded by the workbook name (i.e., G!, W!, L!, S!, etc.).

Workbook communication isn’t entirely universal. There are levels to the workbooks that are required to eliminate cyclical calculations. The image below illustrates the different levels and communication.
