Adding Cameras

Cameras are similar to setting a view. However, views will display all the 3D objects that are within the display window; whereas, cameras contain a defined area and will only display the objects within that defined area.

To create a new camera, click on the View menu icon the tool strip, then under the Views drop-down menu, select Perspective.

Next, you will be prompted to specify a camera location. After selecting a point to place the camera, you will need to specify the target area; to do this, you will need to select a point beyond the objects you wish to be included in the rendered image. See the image below.

Once the camera has been placed and the target area specified, the window will display the camera view. You will be able to adjust the view of the objects by zooming and panning until you get the desired view. You can also get a quick “rendered” visual by using a realistic visual style.

A realistic visual style is not the same as creating a rendered image. However, it will display the materials that have been assigned to the objects in view. Be mindful that the materials used in the drawing do not represent the materials used for the room or project – they are simply used to create a better visual representation of the products. The materials for the objects can be changed.
