Face Frame Expansion Overview

The Microvellum Face Frame Expansion for the Foundation Library contains a broad collection of various Face Frame cabinet products intended to be used as a starting point for manufactures or create their own catalog. The expansion contains 113 unique products and 25 unique subassemblies that use existing global variables for customizing desired details. Each product also contains dozens or more variables unique to each product for further customization.

Master Products

Master Cabinet FF




Description: Single modular face frame cabinet product. This is a “Master” product capable of being saved back to Library numerous times in unlimited number of different combinations.  This product is included with the Foundation Library Face Frame Expansion.

As with any “Master” cabinet product in the Frameless Cabinetry category, each can become a Base, Base Open, Tall, Tall Open, Upper, or Upper Open by the Product Type combo box inside the Advanced Construction Options tab. In the same tab, we can also control the desired construction method for each of the various cabinet parts.

Inside the Material Options tab, we can individually specify a different material for each of the cabinet parts if they differ from what is set in the specification group. We can also control the grain direction for doors, sides, and cabinet backs.

The Master 2 Bay Horizontal Cabinet FF is very similar to the Master Horizontal Designer Cabinet FF which has up to 10 bays. This product can only have two bays to keep the internal spreadsheet data as simple & efficient as possible.

Face Frame Applied Panels

Applied Panel FF


Description: Applied Panel Subassembly designed for Face Frame cabinet conditions. This subassembly contains two nested subassemblies (Finished Faces or similar) designed to either be used on the Left or Right side of a face frame cabinet product. This subassembly is included with the Foundation Library Face Frame Expansion.

Options: 
  1. Access to all Foundation Library Door Types & Styles
  2. Options for Edge Bottom/Top/Left/Right
  3. Specify Finished End Scribe
  4. Specify Top/Bottom Reveal
  5. Specify amount to extend Top/Front Edge
  6. Access to grain direction & Material Options
Additional Info: Insertion point for this subassembly insert is the lower left-hand (or right-hand) corner at the back (Minus the panel thickness). The Height & Depth are defining the size of the panel (minus the toe kick height and/or other variables).


Face Frame Left Applied End, Face Frame Right Applied End


Description: Face Frame Applied End Subassembly designed for Face Frame cabinet conditions. This subassembly contains up to six nested subassemblies (Finished Faces or similar) depending on the selected number of inset panels. There are two different Left/Right versions designed to either be used on the Left or Right side of a face frame cabinet product. This subassembly is included with the Foundation Library Face Frame Expansion.

Options: 
  1. Frame Stile & Rail width variables
  2. Specify which Stiles extend to the floor (None, Front, Back, Both) and distance
  3. Specify if bottom rail extends to the floor and distance
  4. Specify Stile scribe amount
  5. Specify amount to extend Top/Front Edge
  6. Access to grain direction & Material Options 
Multi Panel Options: 
  1. Depending on the condition needed, up to six individual panels inset the frame
  2. Access to all Foundation Library Door Types & Styles
  3. Specify if you have an Adjacent Base or Upper Cabinet and Qty of Vertical Panels. Panels will update accordingly with built in Panel Calculation formulas (see image below).
  4. Deselecting “Simple Panel Calculation” allows you to custom specify the panel sizes & locations

This subassembly is included with the Foundation Library Face Frame Expansion.

  2. Cutout Offset from Left/Right Stile
  3. Distance between Cutouts
  4. Qty of Cutouts
  5. Options include: 
    1. Top Rail Arch
    2. Top Rail Double Arch
    3. Top Rail Scallop
    4. Top Rail Three Sided Notch
    5. Bottom Rail Arch
    6. Bottom Rail Double Arch
    7. Bottom Rail Scallop
    8. Bottom Rail Three Sided Notch

Face Frame Left Stile Flutes and Profiles, Face Frame Right Stile Flutes and Profiles

 

Description: Specialty Face Frame Subassembly designed for Face Frame cabinet conditions. This subassembly contains no actual cut parts but rather a collection of virtual routes design to apply decorative machining (flutes) to Left/Right Stiles when it is added to a product. This same subassembly can also apply a decorative VCUT miter profile along the outside edge. This subassembly is included with the Foundation Library Face Frame Expansion.

  1. Add Flutes Left/Right: None, Full Height, Split Height, Top Only, Bottom Only
  2. Flute Qty: 3, 4, 5
  3. Flute Distance From Top/Bottom
  4. Distance Between Flutes (for split height)
